Meet the Family Behind Red, White & Boom

Our journey to farming didn’t start on land – it started with service, family, and a desire to build something of our own.

Our family includes an active-duty U.S. Navy service member, and we’ve had the opportunity to live and work overseas, including time spent in Guam. Those years taught us the value of hard work, adaptability, and appreciation for the simple things — especially food, family, and community.

When we returned home, we knew we wanted to put down roots somewhere that allowed us to slow down and build something meaningful. We found that place in Chesapeake, Virginia, where we began raising our own food and teaching our kids what it means to care for animals, the land, and each other.

What started as a way to feed our own family has grown into a small farm focused on honest food, responsible practices, and community connection.

Everything we raise is something we’re proud to put on our own table — and yours.

How We Raise Them

We believe animals should be raised with care, space, and respect. On our farm, that means daily hands-on care, fresh air, and room to move.

We focus on small-scale, responsible farming practices that prioritize animal welfare and quality over speed or volume. Our animals are raised outdoors whenever possible and cared for closely from start to finish.

Because we raise food for our own family, we hold ourselves to standards we’re comfortable standing behind — no shortcuts, no mass production, and no disconnect between the farm and the table.

Why We Started This Farm

We started this farm because we wanted our kids to understand where food comes from — not just what’s on their plate, but the work and responsibility behind it.

Farming has given us a way to slow down, work together as a family, and stay connected to our land and community. It’s taught our kids accountability, patience, and respect for animals and the environment.

This farm exists to raise food we’re proud of, to live out the values we believe in, and to share that food with families who care about the same things we do.
